fotographer Pietro Raimondi
“A journey into pain, but also in the consolation that people can offer to their
fellow humans.”
Giovanni Gastel
This book was born of nostalgia.
It comes from even before the difficult time we are now going through, during which more than any prohibition,
we have felt the resurgence of the strength of a humanity we have been missing for such a long time: a humanity
composed of eternal values to direct our soul towards.
It also comes from our encounter with the other part of the world that, in the Democratic Republic of East Timor,
lives with the privations, confinements and uncertainties that we have only been enduring for a few months.
This is an unusual immersion in their lives, where they may have lost everything except their humanity – lives told
in words that guide us so that we don’t lose it.
