A photographic tribute to the city of the American revolution by the great Italian master of black and white photography Mimmo Jodice.
A photographic tribute to the city of the American revolution by the great Italian master of black and white photography Mimmo Jodice. Commissioned by the Massachusetts College of Art in Boston, Jodice was asked to capture the heart of contemporary Boston, highlighting the soul of this once maritime town, residence of New England’s cultural and historical elite, and now home to surprising architectural design and urban renovation.
A powerful and innovative photographic journey, consisting of 50 black and white photographs, which cover the urban Boston area and surrounding landscapes. Jodice’s pieces are emphasized by dramatic visual components of light and shade accompanied by fast moving and sometimes fleeting images which playfully bring to life the essence of the city. A personal vision of Boston: a romantic Gardner Museum, derelict and abandoned waterfronts and piers, spacious city squares and legendary graveyards, the luminous New England aquarium and illustrious Wellesley College, as well as monumental modern buildings, each carefully recounting the history and future of this important American metropolis.
